Winner 64 of 2025: GALILEAN QUALITY, trained by Karl Burke, and ridden by Clifford Lee. The Class 2 “British EBF Novice Stakes” over 1m2f at Pontefract.
Galilean Quality broke well from the stalls and was travelling strongly behind the Owen Burrows-trained 13/2 chance before making his move when turning for home. Still showing signs of greenness in the closing stages, the bay colt picked up gamely inside the last furlong to win convincingly.
Stepped up to a 1m2f for the first time in his career, our son of Teofilo showed marked improvement from his two previous runs. Given his pedigree and physique, he was more than entitled to learn from his races. He really stepped up during the race, delivering a taking performance to win by over 3/4 lengths, picking up the £25.000 Tattersalls Book 1 Bonus in the process.

Timeform rated his maiden victory with a 79, commenting: "Showed improved form to get off the mark, very obviously benefiting from the step up in trip; pressed leader, ridden over 2f out, stayed on to lead final 1f, driven out; he'll stay 1½m as a 3-y-o."
