We purchased this son of Arcano from the 2016 Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training sale (from the stable of Kevin Prendergast.) Rated 82 after 3 starts, he won his last race at Dundalk over a mile before he joined ourselves and David O'Meara. Who else would we send him to but David, who worked wonders with our Old Newton Cup winner Tawdeea, who came from the same sale the previous year.

Waarif had a super 2019, especially when winning the same race at the Ayr Gold Cup Festival for the second year running and in 2018, he has also won the historic Carlisle Bell in course record time too!

He really is a stable and MPR stalwart, who doesn’t know how to run a bad race. He has won 7 races for his lucky owners, since we purchased him, again as an HIT.

He was selected in David's April 17th Sporting Life stable tour, where he says: "Is a really tough horse who invariably gives his running. He surprised me running so well in the Balmoral last season as I think he prefers running around a bend. He’s very versatile and always pays his way each season."

Here he is at home in March:

Training Update: He’s been off for a year with a leg, but he’s back working very well again now. He has an official rating of 95 and loves to bowl along in his races. He loves Ayr, especially the Western meeting, but seems to run well at any track and he’s very versatile re trip (8-10f) and ground-wise too (possibly prefers a bit of juice underfoot). A most inexpensive way of owning a share in a horse rated as he is. TIMEFORM RATED: 103. He has some race targets coming up in April.
