Serious Group Race Potential!

Mehmas is the sire of Persian Force, who is, in turn, the sire of Pershaada & Dover Street - such lineage has one common theme: Richard Hannon; he trained/trains them all.

It’s a lineage that seems to suit Richard’s Herridge team particularly well, so when Richard and ace Bloodstock agent Ross Doyle struck the winning bid for this colt at 38,000gns, we quickly secured our name on the docket.

We’d seen this fabulous colt the day before the sale, and our whole team agreed he was “the nicest colt on the Tattersalls site that week” - we were pretty keen to buy him & we’re delighted to have him on board and pleasantly surprised by the hammer price.

He could be a Monday evening at Windsor in April, Hannon ‘whizzbanger’ - but he’s more likely a Newbury 6f in May or June type who, being out of an Australia mare, who has already produced an early-season listed 2-year-old runner with an official rating of 95, is likely to stay 7f or even 8f in time.

His physique is that of a Group horse, and his pedigree has a similar appearance, given his dam has produced a black-type 2yo performer from her sole runner to date.

Ross Doyle - "He’s a belter. He reminds me of Dover Street (by Persian Force) who is currently rated 102 (for Richard Hannon) and is getting better”.

He qualifies for both of the £200,000 Tattersalls Super Auction races held at Newmarket next August (6f) & October (7f). However, those races are the least of our hopes and dreams. We’d love to think he could make up into a Group performer in the second half of next season & we see no reason why that couldn’t be the case - on looks it fits; on pedigree it fits.

He will, of course, be eligible for next year's Tattersalls Somerville Stakes, where Eddie's Boy finished third, Court Alert second, and Supreme Star6 th in previous years. As well as the ever popular Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, which we could win before with The Dragon King.
