The asset that really drew us in with this lovely, athletic filly, at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale, was her stride pattern, in her breeze. Add to that, a great, determined, head carriage and throw in a lovely black type pedigree and you can forgive us for thinking we may just be onto something.
Here she is posing for our bloodstock team at the sale:
She looks every inch the sort of filly who should be very effective this year over sprint distances, but improve as she develops into her sizeable frame and as we step her up to a race distance commensurate with her pedigree. Her dam has produced a plethora of very talented individuals with 4 of them achieving a Timeform rating of 100 or above and her sire, Kodi Bear is enjoying his second season at stud, having already produced the likes of Cobh and Scarlet Bear. He was essentially a miler himself, but being a son of the mighty Kodiac, he’s certainly imparting plenty of speed into his produce. Take this filly’s breeze for example, although a little slow to hit the time sensors, she shows plenty of dash and looks to be getting stronger and stronger as the breeze progresses. She really strides out best, displaying a fantastic head carriage, just as the breeze is coming to a close. She looks the perfect candidate to usurp her breeze, once racing over a full, racing distance of ground. She still timed in the top 28% of all Breezers, however, should she have trapped a little better, or started her run just a little further out, she ought to have been able to finish higher still, notwithstanding her more stoutly bred pedigree than many of her contemporaries in the breeze up cohort.
Here is her breeze:
Racing Update: She’s a black type filly, make no mistake. That’s there, on her CV, for life, we can never take that away. She’ll always retain considerable residual value. 7f listed and Group races will be her this season. She’s a Saturday horse make no mistake. TIMEFORM RATED: 90. Her race entries/declarations will show on this page.
