Alice Haynes has had a tremendous start to her training career and we certainly hope that our new purchase together - this filly by LAND FORCE, will star for us in 2023.
This filly is 100% GBB BONUS QUALIFIED. Read about this scheme, here.
Here’s a decent sized, good walking filly, who qualifies for the £20,000 GB Bonus scheme, were she to even win a Class D fillies’ novice or maiden race or above, in addition to the regulation prize money on the day. She could pay for herself with a single win.
An initial 15,000gns purchase from Tattersalls in October, she looks sharp and early and it’d be perfectly feasible that she’ll be racing in April 2023 or just after. She’s a very pretty filly, by an exciting, sprinting, first season sire in the Richmond Stakes winning Land Force. She’s out of a very speedily bred Sakhee’s Secret mare who has produced one exceptional performer and 2 very decent ones already. She’s not 100% correct in front, conformation-wise as you look at her, however there’s a saying in racing “If you want to see an example of bad conformation, go and visit any winners’ enclosure”. Her conformation on one of her front limbs isn’t bad, it just not quite perfect, it’s why we’ve been able to pick her up as sensibly priced as we have; she wouldn't be on most agents’ lists but we asked the very pragmatic Alice Haynes to check her out for us and she was of the opinion that she looks racy and trainable.
There’s a case for, ‘we’ve unearthed a bargain’, one novice or maiden win and its job done, and the rest’s a bonus. Alice has done really well with her fast 2yo fillies in 2022 - Gp3 winner Lady Hollywood, 3-time winner New Hope Bullet, dual winner Lady Bullet, for example, all purchased on a sensible budget.
We look set for an exciting Spring & Summer of 2023 with this filly, all being well.
The same MPR buying team, who bought last year's yearlings have done a great job, with 18 pieces of 2yo black type earned this season and no doubt they have struck gold with this one too!
Training Update (5th February): She is now with Alice in Newmarket and settling in well. See the update videos of her below from pre training and the most recent one, in the gallery.
