Purchased from the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale, this filly is by the super sire KODIAC. Read about his profile here: https://www.tallyhostud.com/kodiac.
Kodiac needs no introduction - he’s a sire sensation; having ascended to greatness amongst the stallion ranks in recent times, siring the top-class horses Hello Youmzain, Gifted Master, Kodi Bear, Tiggy Wiggy, Nando Parrado, Adaay, Prince Of Lir, Best Solution etc etc. He is the top European sire of 2 year old's at present (see the gallery) and his three, Royal Ascot winners, in a day, is unprecedented, outside of the Coolmore Stallions’ cohort. This filly was our ‘nap’ of all the fillies in the Tattersalls Ireland Sale, and we’re pretty sure the market has agreed with us, given the sole filly to trump our £68,000 price tag, was a Kingman filly, who sold for £70,000 (a figure remarkably low for any Kingman progeny to sell through the ring).
Our filly is quite the most fabulous mover that you could possibly wish to see; even the super video we’ve posted here, doesn’t quite do her justice, in our humble opinion. This filly would be right up there in our yearling pecking order, at this early moment in time, and given she’s going into training with Richard Hannon (trainer of Tiggy Wiggy, by Kodiac), she’ll have every chance of making the grade.
As the media reports of our quotes, following her purchase, imply, she’s already being perceived by ourselves, along with the auctioneer, as a real Royal Ascot, potential contender. Let’s hope we’re proven right.
She’s out of a really progressive, black type mare, **whose most recent progeny to hit the course (a colt by Fastnet Rock) has earned a 98 Timeform rating, since we purchased our yearling, when finishing 3rd at The Curragh, a length and a half off a 105 rated Coolmore horse, on 27/9/20**
See her walk here:
She has been named KODIAS SANGARIUS.
Training Update (19th February): All is well with her at home. She is a lovely big, colt like, filly, with a good attitude and temperament. She is doing one 3.5f canter up the Everleigh Hill daily and every now and then they go up twice. By the end of February, this regime will be twice daily and her stalls work has been perfect. She could be one that copes with an early step up in work/a racecourse gallop and then her debut. Richard has sent us the video update below of her. (See all videos of her in the gallery.)
