From the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale, this filly is by PRINCE OF LIR; the sire of the Royal Ascot 2yo, Norfolk Stakes winning THE LIR JET - we couldn’t leave this filly behind!

We’d identified 5 star lots from the Guineas Breeze Ups sale, and we were lucky enough to walk away with 3 of them, the other two making 160,000gns and 110,000gns respectively, which we felt just over valued them both a little. Top of the shop, our number one nap of the sale, however, was this filly, by the Kodiac sire, Prince of Lir.

This filly is actually a half-sister to the dual winning 2yo stakes/black type performer Stardevote, no less, who’s Timeform rated 104 and looks set to add further to the pedigree.

Her breeze was visually THE most outstanding, of the whole sale, in our humble opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but for me personally, she trumped all 200 lots in the sale, with the way she went about her business over the final 2.4 furlongs of Newmarket’s Rowley Mile course, coping admirably with the famous ‘dip’ just after the bushes, and striding on magnificently as she hit the rising ground, galloping endlessly, right through the line and the gallop out. She was the best performing filly in the whole sale over the latter stages of the breeze, which we feel is both significant and informative and you can see she’s plenty more to give, even after the breeze is finishing.

In talking to the vendor, she commented “She’s ready to run, she’s a black type filly, make no mistake, and she’ll even stay 6 and 7 furlongs in time”. High praise indeed!

Here she is at her new home, Herridge:

She’s strong and sharp, even built like a colt, just the sort of 2yo who ought to thrive at Richard’s, near Newbury, base.

Her proven, black type sibling means this gorgeous filly will retain significant residual value, once her racing career is over, and the odds are stacking up, that’s she’ll add significant value to the pedigree herself.
