*Out of an own-sister to Gr.3 Gold Cup Chase winner QUENTIN COLLONGES*
This gorgeous filly was originally entered in the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, which continues to be the leading National Hunt Store Sale anywhere in the world. But with all the sale dates being rescheduled, her consignor supplemented her, along with 54 other store horse consignors, into the newly named 'Goffs Summer Sale' held in Doncaster. She joins the Champion Trainer and we are very excited to have bought her!
She is by the outstanding National Hunt sire KAPGARDE out of an own-sister to Gr.3 Gold Cup Chase winner QUENTIN COLLONGES. Read about her sire here: http://hetraie.com/ and see his large impressive list of winning progeny in the gallery, including 8 at Grade 1 level: A PLUS TARD, CLAN DES OBEAUX, FAKIR D'OUDAIRIES, FEU FOLLET, MILORD THOMAS and PRINCE ALI. A great day for her sire, with A PLUS TARD winning the Grade 1 Savills Chase: https://www.racingpost.com/news/race-reports/just-in-time-a-plus-tard-flies-home-to-deny-kemboy-in-vintage-savills-chase/465506 and taking 2nd in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at this years Festival. Then at the 2021 Aintree Festival, FAKIR D'OUDAIRIES won the Grade 1 Marsh Chase.
See her walk and trot video here:
She looks like the type that should come to hand early, she's a big strong girl but looks racy enough at the same time. There are some very nice Spring bumpers that we could almost certainly look at with her, who knows, maybe even the Mare's bumper at Aintree could factor into the reckoning if she comes to hand.
Our Nicky Henderson, Seven Barrows string has really taken a few boosts as we have expanded our team; from the Kim Muir 3rd, Premier Bond, through to the Listed winning mare and Grade 2 placed Marie's Rock.
Training Update (17th August): She has summered very well and we think that she will really benefit from the time she's been afforded to strengthen and mature this summer. Now she will start getting fit, ready to return to her daily routine at Seven Barrows. She had worked well on the grass at home and she’s a strong, robust filly who has a lovely attitude and has shown ability. Nicky is rather sweet on her and says that she is "a no nonsense, tough filly with a great attitude and I really like that." She will be readied for a debut in a bumper.
Here's Nicky giving an update and overview on her, to National Hunt Manager Tom. (See a video of her on the gallops in the gallery.)
