We are thrilled to welcome ROGER CHARLTON to the MPR Family, with this superb filly, purchased at the Tattersalls Book 2 Sale. There is probably no finer trainer of a progressive young horse than Roger and we believe he is the perfect fit for her.
She is by GLENEAGLES. A Champion 2YO & European Champion 3YO Miler, read. about her sire here: https://coolmore.com/stallions/gleneagles.
By one of the flagship Coolmore Stallions, Gleneagles, this superb filly is a very strong, compact and racy looking individual, who looks strong through the shoulder and super robust, just the sort of qualities you’d look for in any top class 2yo. She’s from a very classy family, as you’d expect, being out of a mare deemed worthy of deigning a Coolmore Stallion and we happen to own one of her siblings in the form of One Hart, who, without incurring small niggles in his 2yo season, could easily have operated at a much higher level in the 2yo division in 2019. His latent and possibly untapped ability, certainly encouraged us to revisit the pedigree again with the addition of the super Gleneagles, being a large constituent in that decision too. (Catalogue Update: Friday 4 September: Half-brother ONE HART (IRE), won 2 races at 2 and 3 years, 2020.)
This filly looks so tough and hardy, we dare suggest that she almost has the appearance of a colt. She moves fantastically well in her slower paces and covers a lot of ground for a filly who has a 2yo’s physique.
Watch her walk video here:
She’s bred to stay a mile in time but we think she’ll operate at her most effective, in 2021, at around 6f, give or take a furlong. We would be far from surprised if she’s not a Windsor in April filly, heading on to somewhere bigger and bolder as the summer months approach. She looks perfect for many of the Sales races, with the Listed Redcar 2yo Trophy, with its huge price money pot, looking the perfect fit, for this filly, at this moment in time.
She’s a thoroughly exciting addition to the MPR ranks, and if she could just hit the heights, that we initially had planned for her half-brother, then we could be onto something here!
Pedigree Update: FREYA, a daughter of Gleneagles wins the 1 mile LISTED James Seymour Stakes at Newmarket on October 31st.
*There are no monthly training fees payable until March 1st 2021*
