We are thrilled to welcome ROGER CHARLTON to the MPR Family, with this superb filly, purchased at the Tattersalls Book 2 Sale. There is probably no finer trainer of a progressive young horse than Roger and we believe he is the perfect fit for her.

She is by GLENEAGLES. A Champion 2YO & European Champion 3YO Miler, read. about her sire here: https://coolmore.com/stallions/gleneagles.

Gleneagles won Ireland’s Premier 2yo race, The Group 1 National Stakes and went on to win three Group 1 races as a 3yo, winning both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas, no less. He was crowned Champion 3yo.

His progeny have really started to emerge this season as they’ve matured, just as their sire did, on the track. A progressive profile through both their 2yo and 3yo careers, is what Gleneagles’ stock seem to display a propensity for, and they often appreciate a distance of a mile or a tad further, to boot, so who better to mastermind the career of such an individual than the master of Beckhampton, Roger Charlton. He’s renowned and revered for handling, precisely this sort of youngster, through their career.

Our filly is from a very classy family, as you’d expect, being out of a mare deemed worthy of deigning a Coolmore Stallion, her grandsires are GALILEO and CAPE CROSS no less. Her great grandsires are SADLER’S WELLS, STORM CAT, GREEN DESERT and NIGHT SHIFT. She almost couldn’t be better bred.

She possesses a very elegant look to her, she’s perfectly well-proportioned and walks with some swagger. She’s bred to be both talented and progressive, and she appears built that way too.

Watch her walk video here:

A very exciting filly, for our first Beckhampton inmate.

Sire updates:

Training Update (29th March): Roger is very happy with how she is and how's she taking everything, but she's in the process of growing, so he will just back off her for a little bit -  which makes sense considering that she isn't breed to be sharp and early. Roger likes her and says that she's such an intelligent filly who has a lovely temperament. You can see her nicely cantering away in the video added below. You can view all videos of her in the gallery.
