Since taking out a full licence in 1998 starting with just 10 horses Colin and his family have trained upwards of 660 winners, 29 of them at Grade 1 level including a Cheltenham Gold Cup, three Betfair Chases, two King George VI Chases, two Ladbrokes Trophys, two Welsh Grand Nationals and two Tolworth Hurdles as well as numerous wins at Cheltenham,Aintree and Punchestown Festivals.
Success breeds success and without question Cue Card's illustrous career which included nine Grade 1 wins is the very reason the yard has gone from strength to strength in recent years. "For the past three seasons we have been fortunate enough to finish in the top 4 of the Trainer's Championship.With a burning ambition to compete at the highest level in National Hunt racing we are constantly looking forward, passionate and focused on the future success of our yard, striving to provide a happy and relaxed environment to ensure all of the horses in our care perform to their very best ability at the highest level,having built and developed a new set up on our 500 acre farm during the past three years. We are fortunate enough to live in the heart of the Blackmore Vale three miles from the picturesque ancient market town of Sherborne renowned for its Abbey, two castles, fine dining and accomodation hence why we encourage our Owners to come and see their horses at home on the gallops and schooling as much as possible, we are also ten miles from Wincanton Racecourse."
