Two winners at Musselburgh in two days from Militia and Beechwood Jude!

Wed 16 Oct 2019

MILITIA: A fourth career win for him! The soft ground on the speed track really helped and under a great ride by Paul Hanagan, he showed that he is in very good heart at the moment. We are looking for him to notch up a hat trick and have declared him to run at Pontefract over 5 furlongs on Monday. BEECHWOOD JUDE: Trying 2 miles for the first time, the son of War Command notched up a second career win. Syndicate manager Mike said  "I thought that Joe Fanning gave him a particularly good ride, especially when Danny Tudhope kicked on coming into the straight. Rather than chase him down straight away he just kept him in his rhythm and picked him off further down the straight. They did crawl round but there’s no denying that he was strong at the line and saw it out well."  Keith has an eye on a hurdling campaign with him and will start him schooling..

It was a close run thing at the top of the Musselburgh 2019 Leading Owners league table, we just lost out on count back with one less 2nd place! The racecourse management commented: "You put up a great fight for the points championship right to the very end and made it a very exciting finale. We appreciate the horses you bring to Musselburgh and its lovely to see your regular owners visiting us too."

Well done to all the owners in our seven winning syndicates at the track this year - 17 out of our 25 runners at Musselburgh placed 1-4! Many thanks to our trainers and their teams for their superb efforts.
