Two very impressive winners today, ensure our impressive strike rate continues

Sun 21 May 2017

We saw two commanding wins today at Ripon. Both from the Richard Hannon stable and both ridden by Silvestre De Sousa (who had a treble on the day!) DE BRUYNE HORSE had run very green on debut at Ascot, beaten over 8l by the Godolphin horse Way Of Wisdom, who went off favorite in today's race. The 'At The Races' commentary said "this should be straightforward for the boys in blue", well they called that wrong! It was the boys (and girls) in sky blue who prevailed, with De Bruyne Horse winning by an amazing 7 lengths. Watch his race here: http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Ripon/21-May-2017/1400 Richard Hannon says "That was a very impressive result and the time looked very good. He was very green on debut at Newmarket and he has showed the necessary improvement here to win in great style. He has plenty of options now and I hope he could turn into one of our nicer two year olds."

It was then the turn of RITA'S MAN to back up his previous win at Redcar. He was trying 1m 2f for the first time and found plenty when taking the lead, pulling away from the field by 3 lengths and picking up over £6k: http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Ripon/21-May-2017/1510/ Richard said about this run "He won nicely and has showed his wellbeing. He appears in fine form and that was a nice win in the end. He should continue on his upward spiral."

SIMMY'S COPSHOP picked up black type placing 3rd in the Listed Rochestown Stakes at Naas, beaten only a length and a quarter. Royal Ascot is now on his agenda.

All in all, the past three days have been thrilling - from 14 runners, 11 have finished in the top 3! That's 4 winners, 4 seconds, 3 thirds and £50k in prize money for our owners. You could say we are pretty pleased with these stats!
