Leroy Leroy wins in impressive style, capping a thrilling day at Doncaster

Sun 16 Sep 2018

LEROY LEROY won the Class 2 Nursery at Doncaster yesterday and became our 72nd winner of 2018.
He made all under Andrea Atzeni and pulled away impressively to win the 1m race by over 2 lengths. Deserved too, as he has been 2nd in his previous three races! Timeform have awarded him a rating of 96. Congratulations to his owners.

RAYMOND TUSK ran a great race in the St Leger making up ground to be 6th and in the prize money. He will be an exciting 4 year old for his syndicate. They had an amazing day, with wonderful hospitality in the Portland Suite and we thank Doncaster (and Raymond!) for a memorable day. Having a colt good enough to run in a Classic is a privilege and he gave his owners a marvellous day at the races.

Both Richard Hannon trained colts will certainly be giving their owners some more fun at the races and they collected over £21,000 from their performances.

BURNT SUGAR ran a massive race at Leopardstown yesterday under top weight and Oisin Murphy was sure that he would have won if he had got the gaps. To be fair there’s not a lot that he could have done about it as he was penned in throughout the race and instead of fanning out across the course in the straight, the finishers tightened up towards the rail and there was just no way through. Timeform have rated it as a career best run. He’s in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at ParisLongchamp on Arc day and there is a big handicap at Ascot on the day before, so one of those will be his next run.
