It's a '1-2-3' from our three runners yesterday!

Sat 22 Feb 2020

The #TeamMPR fine form continued yesterday, with our three runners finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with a 1-2 in the last race at Wolverhampton!

WINNER - WATHEER (Roger Fell) in the 7f Classified Stakes, under a great ride by the AW man of the moment Ben Curtis (see above!)

Watheer has been 'knocking on the door' this year, after taking 2nd at Chelmsford 10 days ago and last night, he and Ben made all the running and he and his owners were rewarded with the win! We bought him at the Goffs HIT sale for £14,000 and Roger has played with his trip and how he should be ridden to best effect. Last night, it was just lovely that many of his owners were there to welcome him and Ben into the winners' enclosure. Well done everyone!

2nd PLACE - JEN'S LAD (Richard Hannon) in the same race, under Thore Hammer Hansen:

As Tim said in his owners race review this morning "The delight of working with trainers such as Richard, who allow us to give our opinions on race planning and conversely, we take on board their new ideas, meant that the addition of blinkers and being taken back down to 7f allowed Jen's Lad to put in a much better performance last evening! He was undone by the other pale blue and orange silks and if he weren't slightly hampered over 2f out, he may well have caught Watheer! He ran on well and went second towards finish, just finishing 1/2 a length away from the win."

3rd PLACE - IT'LLCOMEIN (Richard Fahey) in the 2m 1/2f Open National Hunt Flat Race at Newcastle on the All-Weather, ridden by Jamie Hamilton:

He is a horse who showed promise on debut in a Bumper at Musselburgh in January and this race, which was a furlong further, saw him take 3rd. It was a race marred by three horses being involved in a nasty incident and we hope that everyone is okay. We'll await Richard's feedback and make a plan for him.

Our form is looking rosy at the moment, with Watheer being our 12th winner of the year and our last 7 runners since last Saturday read: 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd and 1st. Long may it continue!
