WINNER 101 OF 2022: YAGAN, trained by Sir Mark Prescott and ridden by Kevin Stott: 'The At The Races App Form Study Handicap' over 1m 6f at Southwell.
Kevin steadied him at the start and they sat towards the back of the pack for most of the race. At the crown of the home bend, he was asked to make up ground, which he started to do on the outer. Making good headway to chase the leader down over 1f out, he took the lead inside the final furlong, keeping on well, to win comfortably, by 3 and a 1/4 lengths.
"Yagan for Middleham Park Racing, Sir Mark Prescott and a first winner for the yard from Kevin Stott." Watch the full race replay here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Southwell/31-August-2022/1450
Timeform rated it as a career best t76, saying: "Was having his first outing at Southwell and got off the mark for the season with more patient tactics readopted, a drop back in grade arguably a factor, too; held up, ridden entering straight, headway under pressure soon after, stayed on to lead entering final 1f, drew clear.”
Syndicate manager Tim says: "Congratulations to his loyal owners on his impressive victory. A good piece of race placement by Sir Mark, as he was saddle cloth number 1. Kevin gave him a good ride and Yagan showed a tenacious attitude. He now qualifies for the 'Stayers Series Final' next weekend, which has been re-routed from Bath to Ffos Las. Sir Mark was thrilled, as were we, seeing him get back to winning ways.”
WINNER 102 OF 2022: COCO JACK, trained by George Scott and ridden by Ben Curtis: The Class 2 feature 'betting.bet Live Betting Odds Pro 2 Y O Series Final Nursery Handicap' over 6f at Hamilton.
Coco Jack made the journey north for the feature £20,000 nursery and the market had him as favourite. No pressure, but George Scott has sent 5 runners up to Hamilton and 4 of them have won!
Prominent on the outer, he was travelling well, as others started to come off the bridle. Taking a slender lead at the 1-pole, he kept on well to see off any challengers and went clear, to win by 1 and a 1/2 lengths.
"Coco Jack, running on gamely, goes on to win." Watch the full race replay here: https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/horse_racing_replays/408024-betting-bet-live-betting-odds-pro-2-y-o-series-final-nursery-handicap-2
Timeform rated it as a career best 97+ saying: "Capitalised on the drop in grade back down at 6f..tracked pace out wide, quickened to lead over 2f out, idled, wandered, asserted well inside final 1f.”
Ben had a smile on his face as he gave us his feedback and we are glad that George's record at Hamilton remains as strong!

Syndicate manager Tom says: "Well done to his owners and co-owners. I'm delighted that he's landed a valuable nursery like that for you. George says that he overcame the shorter trip well; he is certainly versatile over distance and ground. His owners should have lots more fun with him - mind you winning 4 races as a 2 year-old isn't bad going already!”
