3rd in a Festival Grade 1 and more black type for Fiveandtwenty!

FIVEANDTWENTY - The Story So Far...

A daughter of Farhh, she was consigned by Robson Aguiar at the 2019 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale. We purchased her with Federico Barberini as agent, for 32,000 guineas and she went into training with Mark Johnston.

She really came into her own, when stepped up in trip as a 3yo. She won three times over 1m 4f at Ripon and Catterick and then over 1m 6f at Musselburgh, on ground ranging from G-F to Heavy. Sparking conversations about schooling her over hurdles...

Well, the answer to that was - she loved it! Moving to Donald McCain, she came out and won three races in succession at Musselburgh, culminating with a sizzling performance earning winning black type in the Listed Scottish Triumph Hurdle:

Then, to see her and Paros, trained by Nicky Henderson OBE, line up in a Grade 1 at Aintree yesterday, was such a privilege and such a thrill for their owners, especially for the six from each syndicate who were able to attend. Paros also ran with credit, but just got tired after his win 12 days ago. They both gave their owners something to cheer on and they spent a fantastic day watching the top quality races, as you would expect at a Festival meeting.

She did herself and her owners proud placing 3rd, behind two very good hurdlers - with Harry Cobden being quoted as saying about Monmiral: "He's a proper Grade 1 horse and the best juvenile I've sat on,"

Aintree looked after our owners so well - so we thank them from the whole team.

Syndicate manager Tom says: "Her syndicate should be so proud of their filly, she took a very, very good third there yesterday behind two very talented horses. She has come out of the race great this morning and Donald has already come up with a plan for her next start. So watch this space!"

Our Director of Racing Tim says: "My thanks to Alice Plunkett for giving me a name check as she discussed the horses in the paddock on ITV Racing! She had clearly done her homework, as it was indeed a 25p bet on Teenoso in The Derby, that gave me the racing bug! When we have these Festival runners it makes me very proud to be the only syndicate to consistently have both Group 1 AND Grade 1 performers. Competing at these levels is something I dreamed of when I began the company 25 years ago and seeing the happy comments and feedback emails from owners makes me so grateful.

The start with our 2yo runners has set a high standard - we have had two juveniles debut, The Gatekeeper won and has a Conditions race on his radar next and then earlier today Tothenines came 2nd, with Timeform saying 'produced a promising first effort; he's by no means bred to be just an early 2-y-o, a likely improver.' It's Newmarket time next week and we will be at the Craven Breeze Up sale, where we found Fiveandtwenty of course. We have three  Group 3 entries on the prestigious cards. On Wednesday: Ventura Diamond and Thank You Next in the Nell Gwyn and Marie's Diamond in the Earl Of Sefton and on Thursday, we will see the return of the flashy chesnut The Rosstafarian in The Craven Stakes. Here's to the rest of the season! "
