BIOGRAPHY: Purchased at the Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sale, DARK ANGEL, the stallion, needs no introduction.
The finest trainer in the land of the progeny of DARK ANGEL is arguably Richard Fahey, with most notably BIRCHWOOD, GABRIEL, INTERNATIONALANGEL, GEORGE BOWEN and of course our very own LILY’S ANGEL, REALTRA & PRYING PANDORA. So, who better to send this 100,000gns Book 2 purchase than the Musley Bank maestro? Not only is this fabulous colt by one of the star stallions of the northern hemisphere, but the mare SIENDRA has already produced 2 BLACK TYPE 2yo’s by what most people would concur, are vastly inferior stallions. Dark Angel was an outstandingly precocious 2yo as are Siendra’s progeny - with ALL FOUR winning as a 2yo.

This stunning grey colt (his pedigree page says bay), really caught our imagination, and our Bloodstock team were quite determined to board him on our roster. He qualifies for BAND A races and those sorts of affairs could easily be on the agenda early on in our career, however, we’d hope that much loftier targets will be afoot throughout the early to middle part of the Summer of 2024.
He qualifies for the very valuable 'Arqana Series' of races in 2024 (he was sold as a foal at Arqana.) The dates are yet to be released, but the 2023 series of races were worth between €222,000 and €352,000 per race and took place in August and September.
Given he’s an upgrade on pedigree and model, compared with Siendra’s two 99, black type rated 2yo’s, we could easily expect this easy moving colt to be an upgrade too, ability and ratings wise.
If he’s a top notch, early to mid-season 2yo next year, we wouldn’t be at all surprised.
