Purchased at the Osarus Yearling sale in France, where we purchased BOITRON and TIGRE DU TERRE; this filly is by OUTSTRIP. Read about her sire here: https://www.darleyeurope.com/stallions/our-stallions/outstrip She is French Owner premiums qualified.
At Middleham Park, we remember OUTSTRIP particularly well, as he locked horns with our very own TOORMORE in the final furlong of the Group 2 Vintage Stales in 2013, where fortunately for us, Toormore prevailed as part of his unbeaten hat-trick of victories, which took him to Champion 2yo in Europe glory that season. Outstrip went on to bag both the Champagne Stakes Gp2 at Doncaster and the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile later that year. Such precocity generally advantages any first season sire once at stud, this year's yearlings are blessed with the first crop of Outstrip, so you'd hope that the Godolphin bred stallion will pass on these very talented genes to his progeny.
Our filly clearly has a fantastically bred sire on her hands and she is lucky enough also, to possess a very talented mare too. Her dam Medalha Milagrosa was rated 110 as a racehorse and furthermore, she has produced black type performers herself, in addition to horses rated in the 90's in France (Assenzio rated 41.5 in France/GB 91). Furthermore, we were lucky enough to own one of her progeny, OUR DIANE, who debuted for us in the Hilary Needler given the immense talent she'd shown at home. Although later a winner for us, Our Diane (by the sprinter Exceed And Excel) only really stayed 4.5f rather than the minimum 5f that we race over. She was lightening quick but was too fast for racing, perversely. With the Exceed And Excel progeny Outstrip staying a mile well, this could prove to be just the ticket for our yearling filly to stay 5f or even 6f as a 2yo.
Keith Dalgleish has done so well for us over the years with the likes of the black type fillies Clem Fandango and Miss Bar Beach. Both her sire and dam could easily impart sufficient talent to see this filly match their achievements.
Syndicate manager update (25th November): She’s been a real revelation since contesting nurseries and remains in fantastic form. Things didn’t go right last time, but up in trip she’ll bounce back to form. She’s got a really deep pedigree so she could still improve no end.
