Ventura Blues is proven to excel around Kempton. It's her spiritual home. She's best at a mile and in big fields where she can attack in the straight off a fairly fierce pace. She's ideal for the £50,000 London Mile Final and that is her seasonal target, all roads lead back there. Last year we tried prepping her for the race but she wasn't quite high enough in the weights to get in, so we had to run her in the BIG FINAL under a penalty (to get her in) only 3 days after her previous race. Obviously this isn't the ideal preparation for any big race, but it was a necessary evil at the time, however she did finish a creditable 4th. If she's arrived a little fresher, she could have won the £31,000 to the winner prize.
This year however, she comes into the season with a rating, commensurate with a guaranteed place in the £50,000 final and we'll target it from here. She ought to be able to place and even win a race along the way and she's the perfect horse for anyone living in the South East of England. She runs regularly and always seems to run well, earning prize money and giving us the opportunity to cheer her on in the straight.
