Purchased at the Goffs Orby Sale, this filly is by the fabulous DECLARATION OF WAR and was bred by Oisin Murphy Racing. Her vendor Eddie O’Leary of Lynn Lodge Stud, from whom we also purchased Group 1 QEII Stakes winner Donjuan Triumphant for 30,000gns, was eulogising about her at the sale!

A son of the superb WAR FRONT, Declaration Of War is the sire of the classic winning OLMEDO for Jean~Claude Rouget in France, Group 1 winner WARNING as well as a number of other Group and listed winners, from a very small cohort of horses, to date. It’s possible that he remains underrated over here, because many of his best winning progeny just happen to have raced in Europe and in the USA; his progeny are very versatile on both the turf and the AW. A son of the mighty War Front, who Coolmore are desperately keen to introduce into their Galileo mares, stands at a fee $25,000 at Ashford Stud, in Kentucky. On the track, Declaration Of War was imperious in his victory in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot followed by a further Group 1 success in the Juddmonte International at York, came his way, later that season. He’s a dual Group 1 winner and progressed fantastically well, throughout his career.

Furthermore, this filly is out of a mare by the Champion Montjeu (a son of Sadler’s Wells, as is Galileo) who is a half-sister to the CHAMPION French filly Covert Love, as well as the Hong Kong Champion, Designs On Rome. To have 3 Champions in the pedigree of an MPR syndicated filly, is quite unprecedented and we really hope the classic winning, producing genes of this filly’s stallion, combined with the trio of champions from her dam’s side, could unearth, a useful filly.

Pedigree page update: "3rd dam STARLIGHT SMILE (USA) (by Green Dancer (USA)): dam of Sparkling Smile (IRE): dam of Sun Power (FR): 2nd Wooldridge Pat Eddery S., L. and 3rd Denford S., L."

Training Update: A giant of a filly who took a while to come to herself. She’s a beautiful individual, jet black in colour, who looks destined for plenty more successes in 2022. She stays all day, loves soft ground and Kempton too. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see her acquire black type and in so doing, she would commend significant residual value, for the paddocks. Easy to recommend. Marco describes her as "a lovely scopey filly, who moves very well and has a great temperament. She is a very elegant filly and has a bit of quality about her." TIMEFORM RATED: 85
