This colt was purchased by Nigel Tinkler at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale. He is by Slade Power: https://www.darleyeurope.com/stallions/our-stallions/slade-power
He qualifies for the very valuable Tattersalls Ireland Auction race held at The Curragh during Ireland's premier meeting of the year, Irish Champions weekend. This race carries a superb €300,000 prize money pot.
Slade Power is a young sire who is very much on the up and the mare of this beautiful, dark bay colt, appears a winner producing machine. Following quite the most fabulous year that Nigel Tinkler had in 2019, we’re thrilled to have our first horse with him. There were quite a few occasions in the 2019 turf season that we kept finishing 2nd to, or just in behind, a Nigel Tinkler horse, so as the saying goes, “if you can’t beat them join them!”
We’ve enjoyed plenty of success from the Tattersalls Ire sale in the past, notably our Group performers Great Page (Group 3 and Listed winner), Viren’s Army (Listed Dee Stakes Winner) and Marie’s Diamond (Group 3 and Listed winner). It’s been a really lucky sale for us and we believe Nigel has unearthed a real bargain here for us, despite not coming in overly cheaply, we feel this colt represents super value for any owners wishing to jump aboard our northern owners’ circuit.
Nigel is a lovely man, he and his wife Carol head a fabulous team and they very much know how to train proper racehorses. Furthermore, Nigel has always struck us a very good judge, when his horses are strong in the market, they’re rarely far away.
