Purchased at the Tattersalls Ascot yearling sale, where we purchased Ventura Rebel this time last year - sold on for a high six figure sum, after being unbeaten in our silks
This colt is by PEARL SECRET. Read more about his sire here: https://chapelstud.co.uk/our-stallions/pearl-secret. Purchased in conjunction with ace Bloodstock agents Peter and Ross Doyle, responsible for hundreds of top class horses over the years, and recently, most notably, the purchasers of Mums Tipple. The news feed from the sale reads: "Lot 41: Ross Doyle of Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock strike again, this time purchasing the Jamie Railton consigned son of Pearl Secret for £30,000. Out of Concentration, the colt is a half-sibling to five winners on the page."
We have enjoyed fabulous successes from the nascent yearling Sale, the Tattersalls Ascot Sale. In just its 3rd season now, the sale has already produced the likes of Urban Icon, our own Ventura Rebel (a £28,000 purchase, the conqueror of Wesley Ward’s, Lady Pauline and 2nd in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot 2019), along with 4 other black type winners and Rod Milman’s £3000 purchase and Super Sprint winner, Betty’s Hope.
It’s a sale that has yet to catch on with the bigger Newmarket battalions, but we fear it may only be a matter of time before they catch glimpse of the progressive and achieving individuals that Tattersalls Ascot has to offer. Ten years ago, Doncaster Sales used to be untrodden ground for many a Newmarket and Lambourn outfit, but times have a changed, word is out and the depth of the market at Doncaster, has become commensurate with their graduates’ achievements. Hopefully we’re slightly ahead of the game in sourcing 4 fabulous yearlings from the Tattersalls Ascot Sale 2019, and although lacking in proven genes, this colt is pretty much the most stunning and fantastic moving individual, your eye could wish to behold. It’s only our opinion, but physically, he lacks for nothing and he is from the first crop of the very fast and high-class PEARL SECRET. This colt oozes quality and we’d be amazed if the fluency of his slower paces, were not to translate into a superb mover when he’s cantering and eventually galloping.
Out of a very fast Mind Games mare herself, who has produced the winners of 7 races, 5 races, 4 races, 3 races and 2 races respectively, our colt is bred to be sensationally quick and super tough too, in keeping with the mare’s previous progeny.
We simply can’t wait to see, our “best physical of the sale” on the track in 2020. If he emulates Ventura Rebel, from this sale, in going close to winning the 2020 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, we’d very much, not be surprised!
Please see a video of his walk and profile attached.
Training Update (21st October): He looked at his fabulous best at our yearling parade at the weekend; clipped out across his girth, his awesome power was there for all to see. He is thriving during his pre-training regime and appears to become more of an athlete each and every time we see him. He moves like a dream on the lunge and is spending time in the arena doing basic flat work and getting used to the riders aids along with trotting/hacking up the 3 Furlongs AWT on Middleham Moor. He looks every bit as exciting today, as the day we purchased him. We look forward to seeing him on the Hannon gallops at our next stable visit in November.
Please see supporting VIDEOS of his progress in the gallery.
