Purchased at THE sale for 2-year-old winners, the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, this filly is from the first crop of the Coolmore stallion NO NAY NEVER, son of the mighty SCAT DADDY. Winner of the Group 1 Prix Morny and the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes, you can see his full stallion details here: http://coolmore.com/stallions/no-nay-never/
Bred in the purple, this filly possesses a distinct advantage over virtually all her contemporaries; i.e. she's from the family of over 14 Black Type performers but also from a family that includes 3 Champions no less, namely SAKHEE, CELESTIAL STORM and MASTERCRAFTSMAN. In addition, her sire No Nay Never holds the track record for the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and her dam was a Group 3 performer, owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum, so you can see why her pedigree is so strong.
If you assess the odds and percentages, based on pedigree alone, then you'd have to suggest that this filly is highly likely to be competing in Listed and Group races herself. Add to the pedigree this filly's fabulous physique and quality of movement and you can see why we had to push the boat out as far as £38,000 (before sales house and agent's commission) to secure her services. We have decided to send this really speedily bred filly to Keith Dalgleish.
Keith has done fantastically well since setting up training a few years ago. In 2017, he trained more winners than any other Scottish trainer due to his hard work and extremely excellent art of freshening others' horses up but also in the training of 2yo's too. Our own Clem Fandango and Miss Bar Beach are just two examples of Keith's ability to train very classy 2yo's.
You would imagine this filly to be fully effective at distances of 5f early on in her career, perhaps staying 6f and 7f in time. She looks hardy and precocious so as soon as racing for2yo's is here in 2018, we will hopefully be seeing this filly on the track. How good she proves to be, time will tell but with her pedigree, physique and athleticism you'd hope she is competing either at a very decent level or perhaps even amongst the best of her contemporaries.
She looks exciting!
Latest Trainer Update (1st Feb): We saw her at the open day where she did a swinging 3 furlong canter. She’s a good topped filly and she has scope to grow with time. She moved nicely on the gallop and was doing things very easily. Keith will step her up to 5 furlong canters during February. At the end of February he’ll decide which of his 2yo’s are ready for a piece of fast work to determine which ones will compete in the early 5f 2yo races.
