We purchased Naadirr, son of the great sire Oasis Dream, in a private deal from the owner in 2016. He has regularly performed creditably in Group company and we believe there is even more to come from him. As he's matured, he has become much more settled and there is perhaps some untapped potential for him over 6f and 7f going forward. Arguably his best piece of form is a 4th to Limato in a Group 2 at Doncaster and this is the only time he has run over 7f since his 2 year old days.
The beauty of this horse are the future options; he can run in high class handicaps with big prize money and he also travels well, as he showed with a good second at Meydan.
He comes into the 2018 turf season in great form Kevin Ryan says, which he has just proved with another win at the Doncaster Lincoln meeting. That's his third win at the course, including in the Listed Cammidge Trophy in 2015. Coming from last to first under Jamie Spencer, read Kevin's post race report here: http://www.kevinryanracing.com/latest-news/one-on-the-board-for-new-season-as-naadirr-breaks-losing-streak/
He has a few exciting races we will aim for this season: The Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot, the Great St Wilfred at Ripon and the Portland Handicap back at Doncaster. A horse to have some fun with this summer!
Update 4th April: He's come out of his Doncaster race win great. He's clearly a happy horse at the moment-Kevin and the team have him in fantastic shape and we can look forward to a super season with him, all being well. All the big Sprint handicaps mentioned above can be on the agenda and we have spotted a €75,000 Group 3 in Rome on 20/5/18, which historically has been won by horses performing to an RPR of 102 for the last 3 years. At Doncaster we ran to 102, so it is an option. He'd probably have a favourite's chance and it's £35,000 Sterling to the winner plus it would afford his owners a great weekend away! Kevin has also just informed us that he has entered him for the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes at the Dante meeting at York, which is another exciting prospect for him!
