Purchased at the Osarus Yearling sale in France, this colt is by MYBOYCHARLIE. Read more about his sire here: https://haras-mezeray.com/chevaux/myboycharlie/
He is French Owner premiums qualified.
Very possibly, the most underrated sire in Europe, is Haras Du Mezeray’s MYBOYCHARLIE; himself a 3-time 2yo winner, including the Group 1 Prix Morny in France, over 6f; the race is France’s 1200m 2yo Championship.
Myboycharlie has already sired, since 2013, multiple Group 1 winners, including 4 horses who have earned over £1 million pounds in prize money, in his short time at Stud. He now stands at a career high of €7500.
This colt ticked all our boxes at the Osarus sale, where we’d previously purchased our high-class horses Tigre Du Terre and Boitron, in that he possesses strength and substance and a strong pedigree to back that up. He’s out of a Dubawi mare no less, who won 2 races herself and BOTH of her runners to date have been winners on the track, including a highly rated horse by the sire Tin Horse, who would be a distinctly lesser stallion, in the ranks, than the high achieving Myboycharlie. See some stats on his progeny in the gallery - the first list is Tin Horse progeny: Colts in blue, fillies in pink. The 2nd list is that of Myboycharlie, headed by Jameka: Colts in blue, fillies in pink. These stats demonstrate how much better, by RPR, Myboycharlie is than Tin horse.
This colt looks a 2yo and very much the sort of individual that could excel at Richard Hannon’s, Newbury base. He is a good stamp of a horse; he has a very good pedigree and appears to possess a very good temperament too. The pieces of the jigsaw, are firmly in place, at this stage, to suggest we should have a lot of enjoyment with your him in 2020 and 2021.
Training Update (27th January): He is cantering nicely every day and has already been on the grass. Richard couldn't be more pleased with his progress and says he is a "proper Hannon type 2yo!" Considering he is the least expensive of our Richard Hannon cohort, he coasted up the gallops when we last saw him in December and both MPR Partners Tim and Mike chose him as their eye catcher, so much so, that we have increased our own stake that we are keeping in him. We look forward to seeing him again at our forthcoming stable visit.
Pedigree update (8th February): His half-sister KENPLEYA won on debut at Chantilly today. The 1m Maiden race can be seen here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Chantilly/08-February-2020/1245
