Dutch Art needs no introduction as a stallion, he's produced Group winner’s year in, year out pretty much since he retired to Stud. We very nearly owned one of his best progeny, PRODUCER who Richard Hannon trained. We'd taken a shine to him at the breeze up sales but in the time it took us to put a syndicate together, the horse was sold. We've been determined to find a lovely Dutch Art ever since. David Lanigan bought this horse at the Tattersalls Book 2 yearling sale 'on spec' and within minutes of having purchased this colt, rang us to see if we would be interested. He took us to see him in the lunge ring and we were blown away by his performance in the ring and his physique when he stood before us just afterwards. Instantly we knew we had found the Dutch Art we'd always wanted and we weren't about to let lightning strike twice and us miss out on a top-class son of the sire. We agreed to purchase him on behalf of Middleham Park.
He is 'Plus 10 Bonus' registered and has a great catalogue page too, Dutch Art out of a Cape Cross mare and his page is packed with black type, Group performers included. He looks to have a fabulous temperament and he goes to a top-class Newmarket trainer whose facilities are second to none. We feel the stars are aligning here to suggest he could be a really talented 2yo for us in 2018. He certainly doesn't look like we'll be waiting forever for him to come to hand, he looks like the sort of horse who will debut in the first half of his 2yo season before improving steadily during its second half.
