Purchased at the Arqana Yearling Sale, we are delighted to have bought this son of INTELLO. He is 'French Owner Premiums' qualified. Read about his sire here: http://www.lequesnay.com/pid23/etalon-17/intello#production
We like to think we have an eye for a nice horse; a horse who is very well put together and who moves well too. Furthermore, we like to think that rather than accept the widely held beliefs in racing, which contribute to "fashion," that we are able to think outside the box a little too and in the case of the sire Intello, we believe there is something of a dynasty starting to appear, Our initial observations, being prompted by our own 4yo son of Intello, Lexington Empire who was the winner of four races and was recently sold for 80,000gns, having being purchased rather inexpensively as a yearling for 20,000gns. Our observations have led us to discover that Intello, as a stallion, is well ahead of where he should be at this point in his career. Initially standing at Cheveley Park Stud before moving to Haras Du Quesnay, he has swiftly been recalled to Cheveley’s main roster, given the fantastic start his runners have had, from a relatively modest covering fee. His eldest runners are now 4yo’s, yet he's already sired the classic placed and Group 1 winner INTELLOGENT in France and Chester Vase and Group 3 St Simon Stakes winning Young Rascal, who also ran in the Epsom Derby. He has a very healthy 8% black type horses to runners percentage, a 31% European winners to runners in stakes races and an 11% winners to runners percentage in Worldwide Group 1 races at the time of writing. We're pretty convinced he's a really promising young stallion, destined for great things. It should come as little surprise maybe that he's on his way to such prowess, given he's a son of the mighty Galileo, out of a Danehill mare, bred by the awesome Wertheimer et Frère breeding dynasty in France, breeders of Goldikova etc. no less.
To be able to be part of Intello's journey, initially with our inexpensively purchased Lexington Empire, followed by our hugely promising 3yo Mensen Ernst and now this fabulously bred colt, is quite a privilege for us at MPR. The mare of our colt is non to shabby either, she's already produced the four time winning and 98 Timeform rated Heliostatic filly ELLA DIVA. There's quite a healthy chance that we've got a really talented individual on our hands here, in the shape of this outstanding son of Intello. He's a smashing individual, he's got some size about him, but not too much. He possesses a lovely balance to his movement and he carries himself well and in a super, fluent manner.
There’s probably no finer trainer in the land, of a young, staying prospect, than Sir Mark Prescott. Whether you’ve a top-class stayer or a horse who needs handicapping before he or she can win, Sir Mark will have earmarked a plan that culminates in a success story. Take our fabulous 6 times, consecutively winning TIMOSHENKO, for instance, having taken, the £50,000 Class 2 Unibet Goodwood Handicap over 2m4f in 2019. Purchased as a yearling for 40,000gns, Timoshenko afforded his merry throng of owners, a journey of a lifetime.
Sir Mark’s career is glittered with such success stories and with the fabulous genes that the sire and dam here bring to the table, we can go into battle, believing we have a horse who could achieve at any level conceivable. Obviously, under Sir Mark’s tutelage, we will ascertain at which level we will start, determined of course, by what level Sir Mark believes he can achieve in the end. It’s a fantastic game of cat and mouse, that Sir Mark purveys with the handicapper, and we all know who usually comes out on top; or the results from the Heath House contingent, usually lead us in a suggested direction.
Visits to Heath House Stables are second to none, and a reason in themselves to be part of the ownership team. An hour in his company, and you know you are in no finer hands, than with the Baronet. His updates and communication are both legendary and we’d strongly recommend you get involved, no matter what your motives are, for wishing to own a racehorse. Sir Mark is very adroit at letting owners know when is the day to support your horse in the betting ring, and those days when it could just prove fruitless, so to do.

Pedigree Update (14th May): PAO ALTO, by Intello shot into the French Derby picture after showing a scintillating turn of foot to land the Group 3 Prix La Force, a key Classic trial, in convincing fashion yesterday at Longchamp : https://www.racingpost.com/news/french-racing/pao-alto-jumps-into-french-derby-reckoning-after-emphatic-trial-success/433978
Trainer report: Sir Mark has a brilliant eye for assessing young horses and whatever he has done for our horses in the past has worked very well indeed! He has recommended we geld this son of Intello now which will aid his progression and to give him a holiday and bring him back in to Heath House in July, for a second half of the season campaign. Exactly what we did with our multiple winner Timoshenko. He has liked what he has seen so far and as ever, judges exacting campaigns for horses in his care.
Syndicate Manager Update (1st July): He has arrived back at Heath House after his 'working holiday' with George and Ann Duffield. George has been riding him, on his daily canters and says that he is a very nice mover who will need a trip (perfect for Sir Mark!) so, he is well on his way to being ready to run. Sir Mark will work his magic with him and he’ll be brought along nice and steadily this year, in Sir Mark's 'Timoshenko' style, with a very productive 3 and 4yo career in mind. He looks like a fabulous Sir Mark Prescott project, in the making. A smashing looking horse who is a half-brother to a Listed winner no less.
Here he is enjoying a morning on the water treadmill at his 'holiday home'
