An impressive 4 length winner last time out at York (13th July), we have purchased this son of Bahamian Bounty. He will now run in our colours and remain in training with Roger Fell.
We couldn't fail but be impressed by the scintillating performance put in on Friday on the Knavesmire at York by the Roger Fell trained HAROME. He totally dominated the 0-95 5f handicap and its protagonists. He looks like a 4yo sprinter that is on a steep, steep, upward curve. There's no knowing where improving sprinters end up, very often it's as a Group performer. Don't take our word for it however, Timeform have awarded him a 103 for that run and the Racing Post were very very impressed too. The race commentary says: "Made most, clear well over 1f out, ridden and kept on strongly final furlong."
He looks perfect for races like the Epsom Dash on Derby Day and all the big Ascot 5f handicap sprints, the Gosforth Park Cup etc; and it's just possible, given his recent rate of progress, that all sorts on Group races, here and abroad, could be on his agenda too. He reminds us very much of our own CAPTAIN DUNNE, who improved at around the same time of his career. He was a stalwart in all the top handicaps and Group races, running in the Nunthorpe and Abbaye no less.
Harome is a half brother to the very progressive and very talented RIVER BOYNE, a shrewd 70,000gns purchase, by Red Baron's Barn at the recent Tattersalls HIT sale. He's a subsequent Listed winner and Graded performer and winner of over £160,000 in prize money.
A highly talented, rapidly improving horse, Harome should offer his owners the opportunity to race at all the big festivals for the next 2 or 3 seasons. We suspect he'll prove popular to our existing clients and we very much look forward to seeing him debut in the light blue and orange silks.
