Responsible for bringing through, the likes of The Lir Jet, Go Bears Go, Persian Force, Lady Hollywood, Summer Sands, Brave Emperor, Oscula, and many many more, Aguiar Bloodstock have proven themselves, as pretty much peerless, in the prepping of young, 2yo horses to enter the Breeze Up system and in preparing horses on trainers’ behalf.
Dark Angel, it’s fair to say, is one of around half a dozen “elite sires” available, having produced the likes of Battaash, Harry Angel, Mecca’s Angel, Lethal Force, Estidhkaar, Gutaifan, and of course our own Lily’s Angel & Realtra. This filly’s dam, REGATTA, was a BLACK TYPE, 2yo winner herself and she’s produced 2 winners to date, who both were both borderline black type performers. It would appear that, for the breeders, the move to trade up to an elite sire like Dark Angel, has worked wonders.
Who better to send this fabulously exciting 2yo filly to, than KARL BURKE? He’s pretty much the best there is at masterminding the careers of fast fillies e.g., Lauren’s, Dramatised, Swingalong, Dandalla etc.
She’s already landed at Karl’s Spigot Lodge Stables in picturesque Middleham, having been delivered from Ireland, only last week. She’s settling in well, and Karl is putting the finishing touches to her racecourse preparations. A €52,000 yearling in the Autumn by the Aguiar Bloodstock team, she’s done nothing but thrive and ever since at home, and she’s shown up, in several gallops now, to be a hugely above average individual. She possesses great size, as you can see, great scope and a long, rangy action, so typical of her sire Dark Angel.
