STABLE VISIT TO VIEW - If you are interested in taking a share and would like to see Speedwood, we will be holding a stable visit on the morning of May 2nd. Please email sarah@middlehamparkracing.net to book your place/s

By the top-class racehorse Garswood, this quality individual comes highly recommended by vendor Thomond O’Mara, the vendor to us of our debut winner, MALC, earlier this Spring.

“He’s a quality horse who can win his ‘maiden’ in as little as 3 weeks’ time, before going on to better things,” Thomond has gone on record as saying.

Furthermore, we loved his breeze, where he showed a fabulous attitude to hug the running rail and run as straight as a dye.

Watch his breeze, here:

He finished in 7th place in the ‘race’ and was actually the 4th colt home. He gained two places late on and was only just getting going as the breeze finalised itself. Thomond says: “Start him off over 6f  and he’ll win his maiden first time, however he will get further. Being by Garswood (who revelled in soft ground himself), he wouldn’t have appreciated the quick ground that they breezed on”.

Last season, we purchased Corallilo from this sale for the Harty’s to train and she won on debut, before being placed in Group company as a 2yo.

Watch his walk and profile, here:

Very unlucky horse to date, but devilishly talented. We had to dig deep for him at last season’s breeze ups given a scintillating breeze. He was all set to go and win his maiden on debut for us, only to injure himself. He needed plenty of TLC in the late Summer, so we decided to back off him and come back for the turf 2024. He’s right as rain now and ready to rock n roll in the 2024 season.

Training update (24th April): Patrick says: "Big Speedwood is coming along nicely. Chris Hayes rode him this morning spin on him this morning on the grass and we were very happy with how he performed. (See the video below) Will won’t want ground too deep when he returns but he is working very well at home in preparation." His race entries/declarations, will show on this page.
