Flint Said No
Purchased at THE sale for 2-year-old winners, the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, he is a son of HARBOUR WATCH, who stood at the famous Tweenhills Stud. Sire of multiple Stakes winners/performers from his two crops, including Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner, TIS MARVELLOUS and Group 2 Norfolk Stakes second, SANTRY. He was the unbeaten Timeform Champion 2yo and is by Champion sire and sire of sires ACCLAMATION. He was retired from stallion duties on veterinary advice in October 2017.
Flint Said No qualifies for the 'Plus 10 Bonus' scheme which means should he win a class 4 maiden or novice he will earn an additional £10,000 on top of his normal win prize money. It's a fantastic initiative and we have already won 16 such bonuses with our MPR horses since its inception three seasons ago.
Bryan says: "He is a great mover and floats along lovely. He is a lovely big lad with substance and he will be a grand 3 year old for connections on the turf next year."
Syndicate manager update: He's needed gelding, ever since he started working in the late Spring of 2018 really, but we kept putting it off, given the level of ability he'd been showing in his work. He's run 4 times to date, running cracking races on day one and day three, but two below par runs on days two and four. His coltish tendencies getting in the way, 50% of the time. He's now "two stone lighter" as the lighthearted phrase that refers to the gelding operation goes and we'll see him progress mentally and physically too over the Winter. Flint's always been quite a long, athletic horse with a great stride, who was always going to improve considerably into his 3yo season from his 2yo. We think he's at least 10 lbs better than we've seen on the track. He's a very inexpensive way into potentially three 2019 winners for his owners.
