Purchased at the GOFFS PREMIER YEARLING SALE, this colt is by the late FAST COMPANY. Read more about his sire here, who sadly passed away in March, here: https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloodstock-latest/he-will-be-sorely-missed-classic-winning-sire-fast-company-dies-aged-15/426516
We’ve enjoyed some fabulous successes with horses purchased from Eddie O’Leary’s Lynn Lodge Stud, over the years, most notably with our Group 2 winning and dual Group 1 placed DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT, who won the Group 1 British Champions Sprint in 2019 and is now standing at stud in France.
Eddie’s eye, very much seems to match our own, and whenever we hook up in the sale’s ring, we appear to hit the bullseye on the racecourse. Purchased from Eddie, in conjunction with ace Bloodstock Agent Bobby O’Ryan, most recently responsible for purchasing the Coventry winner RAJASINGHE and Molecombe winner RUMBLE INTHEJUNGLE, this colt looks every inch a sharp and racy 2yo for 2020. He’s by the sire of the Norfolk Winner BAITHA ALGA, in FAST COMPANY, himself the winner of the Acomb Stakes at York and runner up in the Dewhurst of his 2yo career.
This colt is from a very fast and talented family which includes the Champion filly IMAGINE and over a dozen other Group and black type performers. He heads to the up and coming Middleham trainer Ben Haslam, who has already sent out 25 winners in 2019 and is set for very much his best ever year as a trainer. Shama’s Song, the dam of this colt is responsible to date, for the very very talented WILD THUNDER, owned by Saeed Manana, who is a very progressive, winning 2yo.
This colt bred to be quick and a pre-Royal Ascot performer in 2020. He looks to have a very bright future indeed!
Please see his walk and profile video in the gallery.
Trainer update (18th March): We saw him at our owners stable visit at the weekend and he looks great! He moved fantastically well on the gallops and Ben is very happy with him. He's strong and shows a very good temperament. Paul Mulrennan has been riding him and he likes him. Ben says that he should be a 6f debutant, in May time, so he has not been inconvenienced by the enforced break to racing.
