Du Destin is a gorgeous looking 5yo purchased at the Derby Sale and is by the up and coming French sire Fuisse (few-see) out of the very special French mare Parenthese. She competed in two listed races from the five starts in her life picking up black type on both occasions and over both fences and hurdles.
Based on the opinion of Highflyers Anthony Bromley, (arguably the highest authority in French National Hunt’s bloodstock), Fuisse is "one you want to be on the right side of." This really is a through and through French pedigree, something that Mr. Henderson had done so well with; Vaniteux, Buveur D’Air, Vyta Du Roc, Simonsig and a little horse named Sprinter Sacre amongst others, all with French families and trained at Seven Barrows.
Season Update: Nicky has just published his 'Horses-In-Training' brochure for the 2018-2019 season. You can read Nicky's thoughts on Du Destin in the gallery.
Syndicate manager update: A gorgeous horse who initially cost 85,000 euros as an unbroken 3yo. He has the typical Nicky Henderson store horse profile of running during his second season with us. What's not been typical however is his on the track performance. He's significantly better at home than we've seen on the track. Now handicapped, he could make a real splash this season; he's just been too green to date to do himself justice. Back after a summer to freshen up and strengthen, he could easily run up a sequence over hurdles this Winter, before progressing to do what he's bred to be, a chaser.
