Purchased at the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale, this filly is by SOLDIER'S CALL - who was trained to win the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 2 Flying Childers, by ARCHIE WATSON. Who else would we send this filly to!
A well related daughter of Soldiers Call. She is a strong, good walking, racy type who should be a real Marygate and Queen Mary type before going onto races such as the Super Sprint again, like we did with our Archie Watson trained EDDIE'S BOY. He won the 2022 Super Sprint, going on to also take Group 3 honours at Chantilly and is now rated 107.
Her pedigree is all speed, with the mare predominately producing 5f or 5.5f specialists. Add to that, the speedy and precocious genes of Soldier’s Call and we have a fast and early model. She walks for fun, has an appearance of a colt, a very strong filly at the least. She should stand out amongst her female contemporaries when she gets into faster paces and when she hits the track.
Tim “She looks a real speedball. A really sharp and racy looking filly (almost looks like a colt). You’d struggle to find, at this stage anyway, a more suitable candidate for races like the Marygate at York in May, and The Queen Mary at Royal Ascot in June. She looks ‘action stations’ “
She looks an outstanding prospect for the Spring and Summer of 2023.
The same MPR buying team, who bought last year's yearlings have done a great job, with 18 pieces of 2yo black type earned this season and no doubt they have struck gold with this one too!
Training update (25th November): She is doing very well in her training with Archie. He sent us the video of her this morning, shown below......
