Race entries

What a sensational racehorse Dawn Approach was. He won the first 2yo maiden of the year in Ireland, before going on to win the Coventry Stakes as a 2yo in the June of that year. He won the Group 1 Dewhurst and was Champion 2yo of his generation. At 3yo, he won the 2000 Guineas no less before going off favourite for, but not staying the Epsom Derby distance, before returning to a mile to win the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He was, quite literally, a phenomenon on the track. He's not long been retired at stud, yet has produced the winners of over 200 races Worldwide to date including numerous Group winners. Read more about her sire here: https://www.darleyeurope.com/stallions/our-stallions/dawn-approach

We spotted this filly at Goffs Sportsman's sale from a farm who we'd previously purchased our black type placed, 104 rated performer Ventura Knight. This filly quite simply stood out from the crowd, from the 250 lots offered on the day at the sale, we felt she was our favourite individual, both the colts and fillies. Our short list was a very short one for the day, it comprised of just the one horse. We've been very lucky at many of the sales this season that we've found our standout individual and very often, been able to secure that individual. You can see from her photos and videos on this page, that there is really no compromise about this filly. There's pretty much nothing you would change about her conformation or her movement; she ticks every box! At €28,000, we felt she represented fantastic value given her pedigree; she's out of a mare who is a half sister to a multiple black type performing mare. You can imagine our delight too when the vendor suggested, following her purchase, that he'd love to keep a share in her, so much esteem does he hold her in. He did note that he'd been impressed by the race placement of Ventura Knight too, which helped sway his decision.

Our filly goes into training with the fabulous Ken Condon, who knows how to prep Classic winners and festival winners and given our filly's lineage, there's every reason to believe that we could be gracing those sorts of hallowed turfs come 2019 and 2020. She's as exciting as horse as we could find at Goffs this year and we can't wait to see her on the track.

She is 'Plus 10' registered. Read about the benefits here: https://www.plus10bonus.com/

Trainer update (7th Nov): She has a beautiful temperament and is already cantering away very professionally upsides (we have added two new videos  of her in action). She looks like she will be nice and early and we couldn't be any happier with her at this stage.

If you are interested in taking a share in this filly, we can arrange a special viewing for you in Co. Kildare. Just contact Charlotte (see above) and she can arrange this for you.
