Purchased at the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling sale, this filly is by DANDY MAN. Tattersalls reported "Lot 80: A strong Dandy Man filly catches the bidders' eyes and the Kildallan farm-consigned filly fetches €50,000. She was bought as a foal last autumn by Woodleigh Stables for €25,000. She is a half-sister to one winner and a full-sister to winner Danielsflyer, who was also placed second in the Listed Woodcote Stakes. Her third dam is the former champion Turf filly in the US and the European champion older horse, All Along."
You just can’t go wrong with a Dandy Man filly, especially one who is a full sister to a black type performer, in this instance, Danielsflyer. This filly is also a half-sister to the very fast, very talented and very precocious colt, Concierge. If we have a yearling filly who is likely to contest the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot in 2020, then this filly is probably the most likely. We’ve purchased her from the same sale that we purchased our very talented Group 3 Prix Du Calvados winning filly, GREAT PAGE (also trained by Richard.) We’re big believers in the Tattersalls Ireland Sale, having also purchased our Richard Hannon trained Dee Stakes winner VIREN'S ARMY and Group winning MARIE'S DIAMOND from this sale too, and we felt this filly was the joint nicest filly in the sale, alongside an Exceed And Excel filly who we underbid for €90,000.
We were delighted to secure our filly for €50,000, with Archie Watson, who is renowned for his sharp and early runners, underbidding at €48,000. Were pretty sure that this racy looking individual, will hit the ground early next season, very possibly at a Windsor evening meeting, before heading for bigger and better things, if her two, 101 rated siblings are anything to go by.
She’s probably with the perfect trainer for a sharp and early filly, in Richard Hannon, with Tiggy Wiggy probably the best example, and were already getting excited about some big days our with the fabulous daughter of Dandy Man.

She qualifies for the very valuable Tattersalls Ireland Auction race held at The Curragh during Ireland's premier meeting of the year, Irish Champions weekend. This race carries a superb €300,000 prize money pot.
Update (30th September): Ventura Flame wins at Hamilton, giving our daughters of DANDY MAN, these results for us this season: 3 year old WEDDING DATE (Richard Hannon) - 2 WINS, 1 2nd and 3 3rd PLACES and 2 year old VENTURA FLAME - 2 WINS, 2 2nd, and 1 3rd PLACE. Now you see why we have purchased another daughter of the sire! They are tough.
Training Update (21st October): We saw her at our yearling parade yesterday. She has strengthened up quite a lot, since the sale. She was quite an elegant, athletic filly at the sales, but she’s making up into a strong filly, so much so, you could slightly liken her to a colt. Colts just tend to be a little more robust than the typical filly, so this should stand her in good stead for her more rigorous training career at Richard Hannon’s in 2020. She’s taking the pre training process in her stride, and already has more of a 2yo shape than a yearling shape about her. So long as she remains sound, we can envisage her being sharp and early come the Spring. We look forward to seeing her on the Hannon gallops at our next stable visit in November.
RICHARD HANNON STABLE VISIT: If you are interested in taking a share, come and see her with us on the morning of SATURDAY NOVEMBER 30th. To see further details and how to book, click onto the 'Richard Hannon Stable Visit' link on this page
