Beechwood Jim Bob
Bought from the Tattersalls Ireland sale, this is a lovely horse with an outstanding pedigree and is Plus 10 Bonus qualified.
It’s fair to say that the sire FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND has enjoyed a stellar couple of seasons with his progeny, starting with our own MARIE’S DIAMOND who, in 2018, won the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes as a 2yo at The Curragh, followed by finishing placed in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes and Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. He trained on to win two further races in 2019 for us, including the listed Pomfret Stakes. Furthermore, Footstepsinthesand has backed this up, in 2019, with Richard Hannon’s top class 2yo colts, Mums Tipple and Threat.
As a racehorse, Footstepsinthesand was unbeaten, running over distances varying from 6f-1m. His finest hour came at Newmarket in the 2000 Guineas, which he won by 1 1/4 lengths from Rebel Rebel. He has now been catapulted to the being perceived as one of the very top stallions out there, and you can imagine our delight in managing to secure, from the same sale that we purchased Marie’s Diamond, a couple of fantastic colts by the sire of the moment. Successes for ourselves, in the form of the Group 3 winner Sandiva and also for Richard Hannon’s Larchmont Lad, show Footstepsinthesand’s ongoing ability to deliver top class performers; he’s a fabulous sire! In the case of this colt, not only is he from a standout stallion, he is also out of a standout mare. Clodovina was an Aga Khan owned horse from a fantastic family. She is half-sister to the stallion Clodovil and also Colombian a very high-class performer for John Gosden. On the track, Clodovina was a good horse in her own right winning on debut and finishing 2nd in a listed race at Maisons-Laffitte. She has passed her ability on to her progeny as well with 2 winners from 3 runners, including Canndal a horse that placed 2nd in the Group 1 Belmont Derby International.
One thing you can be sure of is he is in the right yard to bring out the best in him, after all Mark has produced some fantastic results with our very own MARIE'S DIAMOND, by the same sire.
