Purchased at the Tattersalls Ascot yearling sale, where we purchased Ventura Rebel this time last year - sold on for a high six figure sum, after being unbeaten in our silks.
This filly is by HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR. Read more about her sire here: https://coolmore.com/stallions/holy-roman-emperor. We bought her in conjunction with ace Bloodstock agents Peter and Ross Doyle, responsible for hundreds of top class horses over the years, and recently, most notably, the purchasers of Mums Tipple.
Daughters of Holy Roman Emperor, have been known to win classics, so we dare to dream, in the case of this beautifully bred (out of a Galileo mare no less) filly, to be trained by Scotland’s very best trainer, Keith Dalgleish. She’s Plus 10 Bonus qualified (read more about the scheme here: https://www.plus10bonus.com/ ) and looks very sharp and racy, every inch a likely, early 2yo runner for 2020, in keeping with the likes of our Pattern race performers Clem Fandango and Miss Bar Beach, who we’ve previously had with Keith in recent seasons. Both are now broodmares at Yeomanstown Stud, giving their owners a tidy profit from their sales!
Our filly’s pedigree is packed with 14 black type performers including the classic winner Billesdon Brook, for Richard Hannon. Our filly is out of a proven mare too, a dual winner on the track, she has produced two winners from her two runners to date; two very, very decent performers., to boot. Holy Roman Emperor churns out winner after winner, with many of them proving listed and Group class, so we are already thinking of winning a maiden or novice in the Spring, before a possible tilt at one of the Royal Ascot juvenile fillies’ races in June.
What particularly attracted us to this filly was her pedigree initially, but she has the looks and movement to match; she’s a loose moving individual with a good attitude. She looks robust and eminently trainable. We’d be very disappointed if she were to prove an unsound sort. We carried out a very rigorous vetting of her at the sale, and she passed, with flying colours.
She looks a very exciting sort indeed for 2020 and beyond. With a classic winner on BOTH sides of her pedigree, who knows where she may end up?
Progress report: This filly oozes quality, having such size and substance about her, however she doesn’t appear backward at all at home; she’s learning fast and keeping good weight on, despite looking like a race sharp athlete already. Her 2yo genes and her fantastic father, should enable her to really achieve once at the races, from May-time onwards, all being well. Fabulous through the stalls and looks ahead of the game. Please see supporting VIDEOS of her progress in the gallery.
