Ventura Rascal gets his deserved win

Our 32nd Winner of the year: VENTURA RASCAL, trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Tom Eaves: The Sky Bet Thank You Key Workers Handicap, over 7f at Catterick.
Now he really did deserve to win yesterday; having been headed at the finishing post in his last run on July 13th. In fact this year, he has placed 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd, so that number 1 finishing position was the natural next result!
He had a poor draw though in 10, but Tom Eaves gave him a great ride, getting him across to be prominent. At the 2 pole, he began to be ridden, making good headway on the outer. He really put his head down to run on well in the final furlong, leading towards the finish.
After the race, in his Racing TV interview, Tom said: "He deserved that. He's very game and stays well - I think he will get a mile. He felt at home on the ground and even with a bit more cut, he'll be right at home."

Well done to his owners and great that two owners were in attendance, to collect the race prizes!
