Ustath: The Hat-Trick Hero
OUR 68th WINNER OF 2020: USTATH trained by Roger Fell and ridden by Tyler Heard (-7): 'Play 4 To Win At Betway Handicap' over 5f at Southwell.
Well, in Monday's story, we said he would return to Southwell yesterday to go for the hat-trick under a 5lb penalty and the rabbit was indeed pulled from the hat! Back to 5f this time and from stall 6, he broke sharply and raced, close up, along the centre of the track. Moving to take a slight lead at the 2 pole, Tyler shook the reins in the final furlong and he kept on well to win - this time by 1 1/2 lengths.
It's super to see him and Tyler at the top of the AW Championships tables. You can see all the up to date leaderboards here: https://www.awchampionships.co.uk/leaderboards/all-star-leaderboards/

In his habitual post race interview with Sky Sports Racing, Tyler said: "He's really easy and simple to ride; he loves it here and it feels like he can win again. He likes to go out and dictate, so I just sit on him and let him gallop. He has a high cruising speed and still picks up after that." Well done again and thank you Tyler!
Syndicate manager Mike says: "Well done to his owners on him landing the hat trick! He did it well and it looked like it there was more to come. Rather than let the handicapper reassess him and then have to run against better opposition we'll look to carry penalties: There’s a few options for him at Southwell next week."
Congratulations to his owners, for the third time this month and to team Fell for keeping him a happy horse!
We must thank the team at Southwell for looking after our owners so well. We received this feedback today about their experience: "Just to thank you so much for looking after us so well yesterday in the most difficult of times. Every member of the Southwell team we spoke too was so friendly and welcoming that it made for a memorable, be it rather surreal day. Ustath too clearly loves coming racing at Southwell!! To win three races on the bounce in 15 days has been incredible."
We'll leave it to Ustath to sign off this hat-trick story. We'll call this his "Winning Roll in the Hay...."
