Lexington Dash (es) to win at HQ

Sun 21 Jun 2020

LEXINGTON DASH (Richard Hannon) - The Betway Novice Stakes over 6f at Newmarket, ridden by Rossa Ryan.

It's been a great week for Rossa Ryan and he rode a treble at Newmarket on Saturday. Starting with our lad, going back to 6f and having his first start on turf. He had him nicely tracking the leaders and when asked to quicken, going on to lead 1f out. He extended away very nicely in the final furlong, to win "comfortably" as the Racing Post reported. He relished the quick ground and Rossa said after the race that he was very professional. Here you can see him putting the race to bed:

With 2, 4, 2, 1 form figures for the son of Siyouni, he has had a nice start for his owners and they look to have a nice colt. "He's a bull of a horse" said syndicate manager Tim Palin. "We'll see what mark he gets, but 6f looks just the ticket for him. Timeform have given him a career high rating of 90 for that race, so we should have some fun with him. I'm delighted for his owners. Well done to Rossa and thanks to team Hannon."

Our Saturday 1, 2, 3 was completed by two horses competing in Class 3 handicaps:

It was a great run by VENTURA OCEAN (Richard Fahey) also at HQ. He put in a career best equalling Timeform performance of 101, only to be beaten by a neck in the Class 3.

MULLIGATAWNY (Roger Fell) made a 'souper' return to the track after 266 days off too. At Ripon, he showed plenty of zest for his racing, to take 3rd in the Class 3 feature race.
