WINNER 71 OF 2022: CORALILLO, trained by Eddie and Patrick Harty and ridden by Chris Hayes: 'The Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden ' over 6f at Fairyhouse.
We purchased her at the Tattersalls Goresbridge breeze up sale on May 19th, with the breezes taking place at Fairyhouse, so a home straight that she has seen before! Nice and calm in the paddock, she got a little keen heading to the start. Drawn on the outer in 7, she set off slowly and was in rear, but was in touch with the leaders. Making headway on the outer from 3f out, Chris took her around the field as she gained pace and took the lead, running on towards the finish, to win readily by a length.

Timeform rated it as a 78+ performance, saying: "In tongue strap for debut, made a promising start to career, impressing with how smoothly she made her ground around the outside; held up, travelled well, headway out wide halfway, led final 1f, well on top finish; will improve."
The Racing Post made her their 'Star performer' on the card, saying: "Coralillo (1.55) recent breeze-up purchase proved she's worth every penny and could be smart." Racing TV interviewed both Chris Hayes and Patrick Harty after the race. Chris said: "She's nice - very professional. She was keen going to the start, so I wanted to drop her out and get her switched off. She quickened away lovely and there's lots of improvement to come. The Naas race looks perfect.” Patrick said: "The ideal start! She has been showing a lot of speed at home and Chris was very keen on her, having come in to ride work. Great to get our first winner with Middleham Park from our first runner."

Syndicate manager Tom says: "Congratulations to her owners on her mighty fine performance and lovely that some of them made the journey over to watch her. I was really impressed by the turn of foot that she showed and the battling qualities in the final furlong. This is something we have seen with a lot of Havana Grey's - and we own a few of them. The 3rd horse had plenty of experience and the favourite in 2nd has a Group 1 entry, so was clearly well thought of. We look forward now to The Ballyhane Stakes on August 1st with her. Great to have a winner first time out with our first horse trained by Eddie and Patrick Harty - well done to the team.”
WINNER 72 OF 2022: MENSEN ERNST, trained by Simone Brogi and ridden by Mr Gabriel Roth Le Vaillant: 'The Prix Des Mousquetaires' over 2,400m at Castera-Verduzan.
As last time, the race was for Amateur Riders, so he had the same jockey on board and once again, he was running under top weight. Settling in third on the outer, he was moving well and without needing to do too much, he took 2nd. Coming around the final bend, he was disputing the lead and in the straight was driven out by Gabriel, to win by a length.

Syndicate manager Tim says: "He really is a legend now. Just look at his 2022 form figures 1,2,1,1,1,1,1,4,1,2,1,1. This was his 12th career win and he has now won prize money of over €144,000; including the very lucrative additional French 'Owner Premiums' for his owners. Congratulations to his syndicate and also to Simone for his campaigning of Mensen - a remarkable run of performances. He will now have a well deserved break."
