Blue Is The Colour.....and winning is our aim!

Sat 07 Nov 2020

OUR 64th WINNER OF 2020 (and 16th 2 year old winner): THE THIN BLUE LINE, trained by Keith Dalgleish and ridden by Joe Fanning: 'The Get Your Ladbrokes Daily Odds Boost Nursery Handicap' over 6f at Newcastle.

Third time lucky for our colt by Mehmas! He was named by one of his owners who this year retired from the police force. He has been placed 2nd on both of his first two starts over 6f and this time, he got the win. Joe had him in touch with the leaders and began to make smooth headway towards the near side over 2f out. He got to work to challenge at the 1 pole and went on to take the lead, although he edged left inside the final furlong, he pulled away to win by 1 1/4 lengths.

Joe said in his post race interview with Sky Sports Racing "He's entitled to win this race. Although he wandered around a bit when he hit the front, he's done it well. Another win for a great successful team at Middleham Park Racing."

Syndicate manager Mike says: "He's still not the finished article but he won with a bit of authority. Joe reported afterwards that he panicked a little bit because he thought he wasn't going to get there in time but The Thin Blue Line made up the ground very easily. He was still green in the final furlong and wandered around a bit so there should be more to come."

Timeform agree and say "This was quite a taking performance all told, and looks capable of further progress."

Well done to his owners and team Dalgeish!

Record breaking first season sire MEHMAS has had an extraordinary year with his first 2 year olds! We're therefore thankful that we have managed to buy a yearling for next year by him, who will be trained by Richard Fahey. Read about him here:,mehmas-ex-inverse-colt_377.htm
