A Win That Was Due!
WINNER 85 OF 2023: DUE CONSIDERATION, trained by Adrian Nicholls and ridden by Connor Murtagh: 'The National Racehorse Week Nursery Handicap' over 1m at Musselburgh.
After two 2nd places from his last two starts, the market view was that this was his day, as he was chalked up as favourite.
Sliightly slow into stride, he managed to make up ground to track the leader on the inside. As they appoached the 3f marker though, he had to wait for room to manoeuvre. Managing to make headway between horses approaching the final furlong, he took the lead and stayed on strongly inside the final furlong, to win comfortably by 1 and a 1/2 lengths.

Timeform rated it as a 64 performance, saying: "Well backed, went one better than on his last 2 starts with the step back up in trip suiting well, doing well under the circumstances, travelled fluently, had to wait for gap from 3f out, led approaching final 1f, in control when flashed tail final 50 yds.”
Connor said in his Racing TV interview: "He put the race to bed quite well there today. Back over a mile, there was big improvement in his run, as he has been a bit green in his races. He is learning on the job and I have no doubt he can improve again.”
Syndicate manager Tim says: "He deserved that after finishing 2nd twice and so did his owners! Connor did well to guide him through the field and he pulled away from them nicely. As Connor said in his interview he has taken a few starts to get the hang of things and hopefully he can now go on from here. Well done everyone.”
