"It has been a pleasure to train for Middleham Park Racing which must be one of the most successful and professionally run syndicates in British racing. The dedication to and knowledge of both Flat and National Hunt Racing is second-to-none and, with so many lovely people involved and a huge number of very talented horses, it is easy to see why they are so successful!"

"Ownership of a National Hunt horse was a personal dream and I’ve enjoyed runners at top venues and on big race-days, including The Cheltenham Festival, Ascot and Sandown." MPR Owner.

We work with the best bloodstock agents in the business in PETER & ROSS DOYLE, HIGHFLYER, PETER & TOBY JONES and TOM MALONE, in an attempt to compete at the very highest level, with Cheltenham aspirations firmly on our radar. Of course we have already tasted dual Festival success, thanks to our early forays across both codes, courtesy of David Pipe, with The Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot winner JUNIOR! He's a legend and enjoying a very happy retirement, which is important to us.

It was at the 2013 Tattersalls Ireland ‘Derby sale’ when we embarked on our enhanced National Hunt Racing adventure with Nicky Henderson OBE. It was here that Tom Palin, our National Hunt manager, acquired our first two store horses; in Premier Bond (pictured right) and Towering. Towering went on to win three times, including at Cheltenham (not bad for his price tag of €22k.) Premier Bond won four times across all three disciplines; Bumper, Hurdles and Steeple-chasing, including on a most memorable day for his owners, placed a super 3rd in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival.

We are privileged to have horses in training with both the current, 6-time Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson OBE and the 11-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls OBE, who we congratulate on both being awarded their OBE's in the 2020 New Year honour's list. In 2019, we hit the ground running: We campaigned 16 horses and came away with 12 winners and 12 2nd places. The impressive Listed hurdle winner Marie's Rock (below), did her owners proud in her first season hurdling is on a lot of peoples trackers for the 2020/21 season!

NEW HORSES: August this year saw us looking for our next set of National Hunt winners at the sales here and in Ireland. We purchased Seven Barrows inmates El Kaldoun, Marie's RockFather John and Go Chique from these 2018 and 2019 NH 'Store Sales' - they all came out and won on debut, so our team's efforts to find the right horses have paid dividends! We have purchased four store horses from the 2020 Goffs Landrover and the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sales and they can be viewed via their links as follows: A Blue Bresil gelding with Nicky Henderson, A Kapgarde gelding with Nicky Henderson, A Kapgarde filly with Nicky Henderson, A Soldier Of Fortune gelding with Paul Nicholls and a Universal gelding with Nicky Henderson.

We have also privately purchased a very exciting Festival prospect in PAROS. Bloodstock agents, Peter and Toby Jones, who are based in the South West of France, found what they believe is a top-class French 3yo hurdler for us; whose price tag represents outstanding value compared with normal market prices, and affords MPR the opportunity to access a totally different league of horse than they’ve previously been able to offer us.

We have also purchased some Horses-In-Training, who all back from their summer breaks and ready for the new jumps season! Horses with - Ben Pauling, Colin Tizzard and our newest is Timoteo, with Gordon Elliott. He is a thoroughly unexposed 7yo gelding and Gordon is very happy to have him. Timoteo looks a surefire winner, under possibly 3 different codes, and we can’t wait to get him racing with the maestro Gordon at the helm. He could take us to all the top tracks, on both sides of the Irish Sea. We think he’s a stunning buy!

When purchasing a share in our National Hunt horses, the likely duration of these syndicates are a number of years, possibly up to 4 or 5 years with just the one, initial upfront payment required. A jumps horse effectively has three careers: a National Hunt Flat (bumper) career, a hurdles career and a chase career. A flat syndicate tends to run for a year or two, with each horse having just one career, so we think a NH horse represents significant value compared to Flat racing.

Unfortunately in the last 15 years, the purchase of NH stock has become hugely expensive, but we are determined to bring our owners the very best chance possible to compete alongside National Hunt racing's elite. If the up front cost of purchasing a share is looking a tad prohibitive, we can spread the cost across the first 18 months of your ownership experience too if you wish.

Please do get in touch with Tom if you are interested in becoming a National Hunt owner with us, on 07909 915079 or email via tom@middlehamparkracing.net
