Half-sister to Gr 3 winner and Norfolk Stakes 2nd, VENTURA REBEL and fully GBB Bonus qualified
Here’s a fabulously well-bred filly, being a half-sister to one of MPR’s most recent success stories, the 5f Group 2, Norfolk Stakes runner up, and subsequent Group 3 winner, VENTURA REBEL.
He was a sharp, racy, early, and above all, very very talented 2yo and 3yo. He won first time up, as early as April of his 2yo season.
Then an Ascot Conditions Stakes winner (above) and Royal Ascot 2nd as a 2yo, he later ran 3rd in the 6f Group 1, Commonwealth Cup and also won the 6f Group 3 Renaissance Stakes at The Curragh in his 3yo year.
This filly was an early foal - born on January 25th 2019 (see her passport and pedigree details attached.) She is very reminiscent of her elder sibling, on looks, and she sits as the perfect fit for many of the 2yo Sales races, at the very least, what, with her low median tag and her filly’s allowance. She looks sharp and racy, just like her brother, and the sort of speedy individual that Bryan Smart thrives on training, eg Alpha Delphini, Tangerine Trees to name but two.
Here's a lovely video showcasing the stud, with a profile of her dam Finalize and her sire Fountain Of Youth and our filly is shown too, as a foal with her mother!
“Fountain of Youth was all speed which is not surprising considering how fast his parents were. His form over 5 furlongs was excellent. At 2 he won his maiden by 4 lengths and was beaten less than a length in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot while at 3 he beat older horses in the Sapphire Stakes-Gr.3 at the Curragh.” Aidan O’Brien. She is fully qualified for the Great British Fillies’ Bonus scheme, where she can win £20,000 each time she wins a Class 4 novice, a Class 3 or Class 2 Conditions race. She’s sure to possess residual value given her fantastic pedigree too, so she looks a fantastic opportunity for any would be owner. Very exciting. Read about this scheme here: Great British Bonus.
She looks especially good value for money.
Training update (21st April): We saw Brian at the Goffs breeze ups yesterday and he was very bullish about how this filly is doing at home: "She can move Tim!" he said. "She just has a good attitude and a lovely long stride on her, that eats up the ground on the gallops, so I have put her in that Listed Redcar race." She is filling out nicely and has plenty of size and scope, is strong and strengthening up all the time, so she will let him know when she is ready to run. Given she’s a half sister to our very own, Group 3 winning Ventura Rebel, there’s no reason why she can’t be a high class racehorse herself. Entered in the Listed William Hill Two Year Old Trophy (Class 1) at Redcar.
We have added some recent images of her, when Graham Lee came in to ride her. Below you can see two videos of them in work too. On the gallops (nearside):
