Fancy Some late Autumn/AW action?
Purchased from the Tattersalls August Sale, this once raced colt, (his pedigree page attached was prepared prior to his debut) is by one of our favourite stallions, Dandy Man and joins the stable of Alice Haynes, in Newmarket.
Our sources tell us that this, very lightly raced colt, shows plenty on the gallops at home, far in excess of the level of performance of his sole race at Newmarket HQ, to date. However, such are the exacting standards of very wealthy owners, across the racing spectrum, that horses who fall below the Group class standard, are moved on, to focus on the excellence of their remaining strings. We are confident that U A E Fifty’s former trainer, Charlie Hills, would have been happy to continue to train him for us, but we had already committed to purchase the horse with Alice, herself.
See him walk at Tattersalls here:
We’re very happy, at MPR, to win races at all levels, and we’d like to think this colt could be up to winning his maiden in the short to medium term, and/or then embarking on a winter’s AW campaign. If he turns out to be a classy, Saturday, handicapper, competing for big pots, we could see him being around MPR for a season or two. However, more likely, is we will race him over the coming months and sell him on (with a win or two or three under his belt, all being well) at either the February or Guineas Sale (May) 2022.
He is quite a thick set, heavy topped horse, as you can see, who we think will benefit no end from a gelding operation. This procedure will be carried out immediately and that should show an improvement in physique and maybe in temperament too. He should be ready to be on the track in a few weeks.
He’s a thoroughly unexposed individual and represents a rather inexpensive opportunity to enter the ownership ranks. He’s a fun roll of the dice for existing owners too, who’d like to brighten up the long, dark nights of Winter, over the coming months.
Video update from Alice (Sept 2nd): He didn't have far to travel to his new yard up the road in Newmarket! Here he is this morning having a leg stretch..
