The MPR and Richard Fahey 2-year-old success story:

We have a superb record with our juveniles trained by Richard. His is our only trainer who has sent 2-year old’s that we have purchased as yearlings, to race at Royal Ascot – every year since 2017!

The owners of Ninetythreetwenty and Ventura Rebel accepted multiple six figure offers for both these 2-year olds and consequently earned a fantastic profit, so we do know how to buy a talented yearling for Mr Fahey to train. Listed and Group winning fillies Sandiva and Lily's Angel were also superstars for us trained at Musley Bank in previous seasons.

In 2020 Ventura Diamond shone when winning the Listed Bosra Sham Stakes at Newmarket, after also winning a Conditions race and lighting up the Qatar Goodwood Festival with a win on her 2nd start. With a Timeform rating of 101, she will be an exciting filly for 2021 as a 3-year-old.

Purchased at the Tattersalls Book 2 Sale, he is by the 2020 leading first crop sire in Europe, MEHMAS and is from the family of 2,000 Guineas winner GOLAN.

He has made an electric start to his career at stud with over 60 winners and the likes of the Clive Cox-trained Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes and Gr.2 Richmond Stakes winner SUPREMACY, Gr. 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner MINZAAL, Gr 2 July Stakes winner LINSAIL, Gr.3 winners FAYATHAAN, GOING GLOBAL, KEEPER OF TIME and BEAUTY INSPIRE. Along with 7 Listed winners to date, he is the sire of 14 STAKES WINNERS from his first crop. Supremacy was rated the top British-trained 2yo of 2020 with a rating of 118. Read all about his sire here:

Every other year or so, racing unearths a new stallion star and MEHMAS seems to be every inch of that. He broke the all-time record for winners for a first season sire, which is amazing, in a season curtailed by the Covid-19 virus.

A more fluent walker, you couldn’t wish to see, than this son of Mehmas, so we took no time at all to decide that we wanted him aboard our roster, for Richard Fahey to train.

Watch his walk video here:

We were absolutely thrilled to secure his services for 30,000gns, a figure that we feel represents outstanding value, given the level interest in Mehmas’ progeny, throughout the sales’ season.

19th July: MEHMAS continues on his impressive ascent as a sire, with a weekend of high profile winners. "Super run for Mehmas continues with two more notable victories." Read the Racing Post Bloodstock story here:

Training Update: He is quite a heavy topped colt, so Richard recommended that we geld him and he has recovered from that well. We saw him at our October stable visit looking well in himself and he has really grown into a big horse, so the time he has been given to mature and grow has been worthwhile and will set him up for his 3 year old career. Richard is keeping him ticking over and when he is ready to work, he will press the buttons. We have added some videos of him in the gallery (he is saddle cloth number 3.)
