Bred by Middleham Park Racing, this is the second foal from the mare Ventura Jazz (half-sister to the Group 2 winner Championship). She is far and away the better individual of her two produce, to date, and she’s by the proven sire in MAYSON (sire of OXTED, ROHAAN, LAUGH A MINUTE, TRUE MASON and GLOBAL APPLAUSE, to name but a few, MAYSON Timeform rated progeny, in excess of 110). Read about her sire here: http://www.cheveleypark.co.uk/stallion/mayson/
Furthermore, our filly is quite the most idyllic model that you could wish for. She’s got great size and strength (actually looks like a colt) but, most importantly, she possesses an immense amount of quality. She’s a stunner, a “Queen” who oozes class. She’s a fantastic mover, and powers across the ground, in an effortless manner.
See her walk here:
Middleham Park have, to date, bred 1 winner from 1 runner, and we see no reason why this filly will let the side down. Quite the opposite, in fact, she could easily shoot us into a new stratosphere. We’d hope she’ll be one of Richard Fahey’s early sorts, the likes of horses that we’ve had with him before, such as SANDIVA, LILY’S ANGEL & VENTURA REBEL.
She’s superbly bred, both dam’s side and sire’s side, and she ticks all the boxes.
Sire Update (December 2021): "Mayson has once again enjoyed a fine season, courtesy of King's Stand Stakes winner Oxted and the remarkable Sandy Lane Stakes winner Rohaan, and will subsequently stand for an increased fee."
