Martha Edlin
Race entries
Purchased at Tattersalls Book 2, this filly is our first horse with the up and coming and very entertaining Newmarket trainer, CHARLIE FELLOWES. We are excited to welcome Charlie to the MPR family, with this gorgeous filly.
She is by INTELLO, a son of the mighty Galileo, who has already sired the classic placed and Group 1 winner INTELLOGENT, Group 3 winners Noble Heidi, Pao Alto, Regal Reality, Slalom and Young Rascal, as well as 7 Listed winners. He is a thoroughly talented sire and has provided MPR with numerous winners, from a small number of horses, all purchased on very sensible budgets: Lexington Empire, who was the winner of four races and was then sold for 80,000gns, having being purchased rather inexpensively as a yearling for 20,000gns, followed by our hugely promising 3 year old Conditions Stakes winner Mensen Ernst, who has now won a superb 9 races! In fact, because his stock can be purchased for very sensible money, he represents one of the very best value for money Stallions out there. She qualifies for 100% of the Great British Bonus Scheme, which means she earns £20,000, on top of normal prize money, for each novice or conditions’ race win she has in her career, as both a 2yo and a 3yo. The number she can win, is without limit. Bryan Smart won 3 and £60,000, therefore, with one of his fillies in 2020. Her walk video can be seen below, with further videos in the gallery.
She could very easily have a tidy residual value at the end of her career too, with her deep genes.
Her name comes from a young girl, Martha Edlin (1660 – 1725) who, during her childhood created the most exquisite embroidery work, some of which is on display in the Victoria and Albert museum. Here's an example of her work on display: https://www.vam.ac.uk/articles/martha-edlins-casket
